Sometimes it’s hard to live in between Christ’s ascension to heaven and His second coming. We have the promise of eternal life, but we’re still waiting for its fulfillment. God’s kingdom is coming, but it hasn’t arrived yet. We experience suffering and tension as a result of living in a world that awaits its final redemption, and we often wonder what God is doing while we wait. Paul tells us in the final section of Romans 8 that God is still working while we are waiting. His Spirit is interceding for us, His plan is working out for us, and His love never leaves us! As a result, we can endure hardship with hope and faithfulness as we wait eagerly for Jesus to come back.
