Summer Prayer Guide
Spring 2025
Prayer is a conversation with God and is one of the most critical aspects of our relationship with Him. Connecting to God in prayer teaches us to trust, love, and follow Him more profoundly. If you are new (or need a refresh) to praying consistently, start this plan using these beginning questions:
- When will you pray? First thing in the morning? At night or during a midday break? Plan for a time when your energy and awareness are optimal.
- Where will you pray? It can be beneficial to have a specific space dedicated to prayer that is free from distractions (phones, screens, responsibilities, tasks).
- How long should you pray? There is no right answer to the amount of time to pray. Start where you are and seek to deepen the quality and quantity of time you spend with God who, after all, is the source of all goodness, beauty and truth!
- What will you pray about? Each week will guide you through a different prayer practice and will prompt you with what to pray.
As you spend time talking to God in prayer this summer, make sure to take time to listen to God’s Spirit as well. Remember, as a believer, your body is the “temple of the Holy Spirit” (1 Corinthians 6:19) and Jesus promised that His Spirit will “guide you into all truth” (John 16:13).
Each week will have 5 points that you can break up however you want (1 point a day, all 5 points every day, etc)
The goal of this prayer guide is for us to grow in our relationship with God and to continue to grow in the practice of prayer.
