Carlos Zazueta

July 30, 2020

Grace Bible Church Members,

The Elder Board is excited to announce the candidacy of Carlos Zazueta for Teaching Pastor of Bryan Midtown Campus.

Carlos, who worked in his hometown in Mexico, as both a city politician and an industrial engineering professor at a top-rated university, initially went to Dallas Theological to take one course: Hermeneutics and Bible Study Methods. He enjoyed the field of study so much he ended up completing a Master of Arts, a Masters of Theology, and has since gone on to complete his Doctorate of Ministry and teaches in the Spanish DMin Program. He has more than 19 years of pastoral ministry experience, has planted a number of churches, and most recently has worked for both Stonebriar Community Church, as a lead pastor of Stonebriar en Español, and Insight for Living as the voice of Pastor Chuck Swindoll. His Spanish radio programming has been aired in more than 750 stations in the U.S., Caribbean, Latin America, and Spain, reaching a Spanish-speaking audience of more than one million listeners.

Carlos comes to Grace Bible Church to take the role of Teaching Pastor at our Bryan Midtown campus because of his desire to be back in pastoral ministry, as well as seeing the incredible opportunity we have to plant multi-ethnic churches in Hispanic populations around Texas and beyond. He has been married to Karla for nine years, and they have a son, Charles Asher.

The candidacy of Carlos will culminate with a congregational vote at the Grace Family Gathering on August 23, 2020 (5pm, Anderson Campus, online streaming will be available).

The details of the candidacy for Carlos are as follows:

  • Elder Board approved candidacy on July 1.
  • Emailed to all members of the congregation detailing the candidacy of Carlos on July 30.
  • Announcement of their candidacy to the congregation on August 2 and throughout August until the vote.
  • Opportunities to meet with Carlos and Karla Zazueta on August 9 after the 9am service at the Anderson Campus.
  • Congregational Vote: August 23, 2020 at Grace Family Gathering

For the Elder board,
Mike Gentry
