what to expect
Service Times - Sundays 9 & 11 AM
Early Childhood programming is for children 2 months old to preschool, and meets during the 9 AM and 11 AM services at Southwood. As you enter the foyer, the Early Childhood hallway is directly to your right. If your child has attended programming before, please check in on the computers upon entry. If it is your child's first time here, our Greeters are waiting for you at the Children's Welcome Desk just inside the double doors and would love to help you check in!
Snack and Allergy Info
If your child has an allergy, please let us know during check-in. The allergy will be noted on your child's name tag. The following snacks are offered at Southwood on Sunday mornings:
- Otters, Koalas, Kangaroos: snacks or bottles from home
- Crocs, Hippos, Giraffes, Elephants, Tigers & Bears: Goldfish or animal crackers
Classroom & Curriculum
Southwood Early Childhood Ministry is divided into classes by birthday, which are led by screened, trained leaders. You can see our classroom assignments based on the birthday chart below.
A typical morning for Otters, Koalas, and Kangaroos includes play and meaningful interaction in a safe, loving environment. The Crocs, Hippos, Giraffes, Elephants, Tigers and Bears classes have a routine that includes a Bible lesson, hands-on activities to reinforce the lesson, snack time, and playtime. In addition, the Giraffe, Elephant, Tigers and Bear classes meet together to do worship in a large group setting.
Special Needs Ministry
At Grace Kids, we love to welcome kids with all abilities to participate in our programming. We have a Grace Kids Buddy program available upon request for kids who might need individual attention on Sunday mornings. See below for more information and a Buddy request form. We desire to provide a Buddy for each child who would benefit from this program, but we may need time after a request is submitted to find a volunteer to partner with each child. If you feel this might be a good option for your child, please contact Southwood Children.
Service Times - SUNDAYS 9 AM
Elementary programming is for Kindergarten - 4th Grade and meets during the 9AM service at Southwood. When you walk in the main doors go to the back left, through the double doors to the Education wing.
Sunday Mornings
A typical morning includes connect time for our kids and their leaders, large group time focusing on worship and a lesson, and small group time for discussions and games.
Classrooms
At Southwood, the Elementary ministry is divided into classrooms based on grade: Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grade. Our 5th & 6th graders also meet together during the 9am service. Please see our Grace 56 section below for more information.
Special Needs Ministry
At Grace Kids, we love to welcome kids with all abilities to participate in our programming. We have our sensory room & Grace Kids Buddy program available upon request for kids who might need individual attention or a self contained classroom on Sunday mornings. Please contact Southwood Kids with any questions, and see below for the buddy request form.

Connect Time
FUN is an important component for ministry in Grace 56. Connect time involves 4-square, Gaga ball, and time to hang out with friends and leaders.
Worship
5th and 6th graders join together with elementary for a time of worship and prayer before a large group lesson.
Large Group
Every week a leader kicks off the lesson with a 3-5 minute teaching point that prepares 56ers for small group discussions.
Small Group
Small groups are the heartbeat of Grace 56. Each small group is a place where 56ers can have open discussions about life using the Bible as their foundation.

Grace Kids desires to extend the open arms of love to every child who walks through our church doors. If you have a child with special needs of any kind, we would love to do as much as we can to accommodate his/her needs and to make him/her feel welcome.

AWANA
Awana is a children's ministry that meets on Sunday evenings during the school year. Our goal is to teach boys and girls about the gospel of Christ and train them to serve Him, with a focus on memorizing Scripture
Kingdom Kids
Kingdom Kids Weekday Preschool, chartered in 1991, is a ministry of Grace Bible Church that partners with families to develop spiritual and academic growth in young children.
