Greece holds a special place in the history of the early church. However, it has moved far away from the teachings of Paul in Scripture. While most of the Greek students we meet would consider themselves Orthodox, there are few who have placed their faith in Christ for eternal life -- if they are even religious at all. Greek students have a very post-modern/post-Christian mindset that "whatever works for you is great", and many of them don't even believe in God. Religion was for their grandparents, not for them. As you can imagine, this presents a great challenge as we seek to spread the gospel, thus the work there is progressing very slowly. Your time will be spent meeting students in Ioannina, a city that is very similar to College Station in the number of students that make up its population of 20,000. But, unlike College Station, Ioannina is a buzzing city set in the beautiful mountains of Greece! Although it is a challenging place to do ministry, we're seeing the Lord do some pretty cool things! Come be a part of a new work in Greece!
