Creekside Campus Pastor
“Now to the eternal king, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory forever and ever! Amen.” I Timothy 1:17
Chris grew up in a Christian home on a ranch in Pilot Point, Texas. He accepted Christ as his Savior at the young age of 5. Chris grew in his faith through his years at home and made a firm decision to live for the Lord in high school. During his senior year of high school, Chris decided to attend Texas A&M University without ever having visited College Station (or any other school for that matter). That turned out to be one of the most significant decisions of his life. It was during his time at A&M that his faith flourished as he got plugged into Grace Bible Church and other college ministries. Late in his freshman year, God united his path with a campus cutie named Arica Landfried. They became close friends and began dating their sophomore year. Entering into his senior year, Chris was hired at Grace as the Junior High Intern. Chris then served on staff at Grace from 1997-2000. During that time, he graduated from Texas A&M with a degree in Landscape Horticulture and married, Arica, his wonderful wife in 1998. After serving at Grace for three years, he and Arica moved to Dallas in order to complete his degree at Dallas Theological Seminary.
Once in Dallas, Chris and Arica began their ministry of over fourteen years at Woodcreek Church in Richardson (previously Richland Bible Fellowship Church). He served as Junior High Director, Financial Administrator and Student Ministries Pastor during his time at Woodcreek. Chris absolutely loved serving students and their families during his long tenure in youth ministry. His wife Arica was by his side in ministry as a volunteer youth leader for sixteen of their almost eighteen years of serving youth. She is a tremendous blessing to him, their marriage and their family as she has a passionate love for knowing Christ and pursuing Him. They have two silly and adorable children: Calli (2004) and Hudson (2007). Their family also has a lovable, fluffy dog named Drake.
Chris is delighted to serve the Lord and His church as the Campus Pastor for Grace Bible Church at the third site alongside the Teaching Pastor, Matt Morton, his long time friend and college roommate.
