Meet Chris Pletcher Youth Coordinator, Southwood Campus
Born and raised in Houston, Chris is the oldest of three and a first generation Aggie. He grew up playing sports and enjoying the fine Texas outdoors with his dad and brother. As a junior in high school, Chris was impacted by the message of Jesus at a Young Life camp in North Carolina. However, it was during his freshman year at A&M that his relationship with the Lord began to flourish. Shortly thereafter, he realized a desire to minister to high school students and got involved with the Youth Group at Grace Bible. His college summers were spent at Laity Lodge Youth Camp, where he served as a counselor and program director. Each of these opportunities provided a rich environment for relationships and growth. After watching his Grace students graduate high school in 2006, Chris left his home state and embarked on a journey to the West Coast. A staff position with Young Life landed him in the Bay Area where for the past two years he has worked to cultivate an outreach ministry to suburban high school kids. He loves football, ultimate frisbee, studying the bible, good coffee, spending time with his family, and being on his dad's ranch.
Meet Ross King Interim Worship Leader, Southwood Campus
Ross King will join us this fall at Southwood as the Interim Worship Leader. He has written or co-written a couple hundred songs, which have been recorded by over 100 different artists and/or organizations. He has also recorded several solo records, and those have sold about 40,000 copies combined. Ross leads, facilitates, and teaches worship wherever he goes, including traveling all over the country (and sometimes the world) spending time with various churches and ministries. Ross also produces records, including his own, Breakaway's and a few others. He and his wife Staci have been married since October 1998. Ross describes her as his "favorite person in the world and my true companion." In November 2003 they adopted their first child, Samuel, who is a source of great, inexpressible joy and laughter in their lives.
