“Faith Alone”

Romans 3:27-4:25

We receive the free gift of eternal life by faith alone in Jesus Christ.

Saving Faith:

–Does not include works (3:27-4:8).

Greek pistis = faith, belief, trust

Faith is considering a person or object to be dependable or reliable.

But when the kindness of God our Savior and His love for mankind appeared, He saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness, but according to His mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit.

—Titus 3:4-5

–Does not require external signs (4:9-12).

–Is grounded in God’s promises (4:13-17).

–Is compatible with reason (4:18-21).

–Is available to everybody (4:22-25).

• Do you trust in Jesus AND something else, or Jesus alone?

• Do you share the message of salvation by grace through faith alone?
