The Moralist:
I. Minimizes His Own Sin (1-3).
“Why do you look at the speck that is in your brother’s eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ and behold, the log is in your own eye?”

II. Refuses to Repent (4-5).
“It is not those who are healthy who need a physician, but those who are sick. “But go and learn what this means: ‘I desire compassion, and not sacrifice,’ for I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners.”
—Matthew 9:12-13
III. Judges By the Wrong Standard (6-16).
A. God’s Standard Is Perfection (6-11).
B. God’s Knowledge is Absolute (12-16).
