•   1:1-5           Do you believe God loves you?

•   1:6-2:9        Do you honor God in worship?

•   2:10-16       Do you honor God in marriage?

•   2:17-3:6      Do you believe in God’s justice?

•   3:7-12         Do you honor God in giving?

•   3:13-4:3      Do you honor God in service?

•   4:4-6           Conclusion: prepare for Messiah

 

Three Reasons we Doubt

1. Forget our own culpability

•   Neh 13:10-11a    – Worship

•   Neh 13:15-16     – Sabbath

•   Neh 13:23-24     – Intermarriage

 

2. Forget the evidence of God’s election

•   Demonstrated in His unmerited choice of Israel – Gen 25:21-26

•   Demonstrated in His unending patience with Israel – Mal 1:3-4

 

•   Demonstrated in His unmerited choice of us – Eph 1:3-6

•   Demonstrated in His unending patience with us – Rom 8:38-39
