College Assistant Pastor
“And what you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses entrust to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.” 2 Timothy 2:2
Marty grew up in Cypress, Texas, just northwest of Houston. He went to Texas A&M from 2002-2006, where he was very involved in College Life at Grace in different roles, such as Doulos leader, Growth Group leader, and Servant Team leader during his time as a student. Upon graduating in 2006 with a bachelor's degree in Psychology, Marty became a college intern. He interned for three years, with his third year being the first year our Southwood campus was open. It was during this time that Marty met his wife, Andrea. They married in July of 2008.
After interning Marty and Andrea left for Dallas Theological Seminary. During their time in seminary they became involved in their church’s pre-marriage ministry and DTS’s yearly World Evangelism Conference. In the summer of 2012 they had their son, the red-headed wonder, Andrew. Marty graduated from DTS in 2013 with a Masters of Theology.
Marty was hired in June of 2013 as the Director of College Grace Groups and Missions. This position allows Marty to focus on all of the things he loves: teaching, missions, the Bible, and most of all, discipleship. It is Andrea and his passion to spend time with students discipling them to become more like Christ.
