“... grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory, both now and to the day of eternity. Amen.” 2 Peter 3:18

The intentional arrangement of one’s life around the Person and Word of God is the essence of the Christian life. This sole conviction is the heartbeat of Buck’s goal for himself, his family, and those to whom he ministers.

Buck graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University in 1976 with a degree in Finance. Five years into his life in the corporate and entrepreneurial worlds, he came to faith in Jesus Christ as a result of his grandmother, Lil Munnerlyn, and the ministry of Billy Graham. What happened next impacted Buck’s life in a profound way as within just a few weeks of the time he trusted the Lord he was in a weekly, intensive Bible study and later became a student at College of Biblical Studies (CBS) in Houston. The lessons of commitment, discipline, and biblical knowledge learned early in his Christian life mark his ministry to this day.

In August 1983, while working for a home builder and still attending College of Biblical Studies, he married Valerie Bitel. Buck and Val moved to Dallas in August 1985 where Buck attended Dallas Theological Seminary and earned his Th.M. degree in Hebrew Exegesis in 1989. The Anderson’s time in Dallas was a rich with learning, ministry, many friends, and the blessed addition of daughters Abby (1987) and Hillary (1989). After graduation Buck took a teaching position with College of Biblical Studies and the family moved to Houston in 1990 and later celebrated the birth of their third daughter, Olivia, in 1992.

Buck’s career with CBS expanded to Academic Dean in 1994 and Provost in 2004. During his time at CBS, Buck earned an Ed.D. in Higher Education (2001) from the University of Houston and the Lord was pleased to grow the College from a one-year Bible Institute to an accredited, bachelor degree-granting institution with over 1700 students. Sensing the clear call of God for Buck to minister at Grace Bible Church as Pastor of Leadership Development and Director of Operations, the Andersons moved to College Station in July 2006 and Buck began his service at Grace the next month as he took his place in “raising up next generation leaders to reach our world for Christ”.
